Le Isole Borromee
Isola Bella, the Borromean Palace and Gardens
The Borromean Palace and Gardens were constructed from 1632 onwards, transforming the pre-existing fishing village into an elegant residence which occupies two thirds of the island. The Italian style baroque gardens remind you of a ship, firmly anchored in the waters of the lake.
Isola Pescatori or Isola Superiore
At just 300 meters long and 100 meters wide, Isola Pescatori boasts not only the charm of a typical fishing village, but also an exceptional location on an island at the centre of the Borromean Gulf. The maze of alleyways which wind their way down towards the shore and the characteristic Parish.
Isola Madre, Botanical Gardens and Palace
The English style Gardens on Isola Madre which were created to reproduce the natural landscape with an elegant perspective, feel enchanted: exotic birds and colourful peacocks wander freely in the park, which is home to numerous exotic varieties of plants. The Borromean Palace is an interesting insight into a home belonging to the nobility of centuries gone by.
